This year the Icares of Cinema welcomes the Banff Mountain Film Festival
Founded in 1976, this prestigious Mountain Film Festival is held every year on the1st weekend of November at the foot of the Canadian Rockies in the city of Banff in the heart of Banff National Park in Alberta.
Uniting over 400 films in compétition, numerous mountaineering personalities worldwide, debates and workshops... this festival has earned its reputation as the most important international cinematographic event of this discipline. Every year, 10 prizes are awarded by an international jury for the best films.
Under the terms of the Festival, the prized films take part in the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour that travels to 40 different countries to the delight of over 500,000 spectators.
